Assynt & Inverpolly
The Northwest Highlands of Scotland have become something like a second home to me over the years. It is a region I have visited regularly since my very first trip to Scotland in the 1990's.
Just north of the fishing town Ullapool you reach the county Sutherland which has some of the most dramatic sceneries of the Scottish Highlands. It is a very remote area and not much populated, but the landscape is very beautiful with its mountains and many lochans. Assynt is a region and parish in the county Sutherland and part of it is the Inverpolly Nature Reserve. It is an area famous for some distinctive mountains like Suilven, Stac Pollaidh or Cùl Mòr.
I have visited this region many times in the past for holidays, but only recently started to photograph it. So I am sure there will be many more happy returns in the future!
